One of the fastest rising names in country music is taking the Q Casino's Back Waters Stage in August, further establishing the venue as the premier destination for entertainment in Dubuque and the Tri-State area.

Jelly Roll will be bringing his "Backroad Baptism Tour" to the Back Waters Stage on Sunday, August 20th at 7pm. The gifted multi-genre singer-songwriter has seen his career explode in the last year with his singles "Son of a Sinner," which won three CMT Music Awards, and "Need a Favor." Jelly Roll also released his debut country album, Whitsitt Chapel, on June 2nd.

While Jelly Roll has been making music since the mid-2010s, he started as a rapper before making the transition to country stylings. His lyrics are raw and unapologetic, often detailing his troubled upbringing, which included substance abuse and multiple incarcerations.

With his rise in popularity, Jelly Roll has sought to be a force for good. He's stepping up his efforts to donate to incarcerated youth as well as fund programs that offer young kids a second chance at a better life.

In addition to his new album, Jelly Roll was also the subject of a documentary. Jelly Roll: Save Me was released on Hulu last month, and it's an absolute must-see for both fans and those just curious about this new artist's rapid ascension.

Jelly Roll will be bringing friends with him to Dubuque come August. Longtime collaborator and country rapper Struggle Jennings (step-grandson of Waylon) will be performing on the Back Waters Stage, as well as Caitlynne Curtis, a young up-and-coming performer.

Jelly Roll is just the latest artist to be announced as part of the 2023 Summer Concert Series at Q Casino's Back Waters Stage. When it comes to top-tier entertainment, no one does it better than the tremendous folks at Q Casino. Just last month, hip-hop artist Flo Rida performed at the venue. The show was absolutely incredible.

Tickets go on sale Friday, June 16th at 10am. Tickets can be purchased on the Back Waters Stage's website or at Guest Services at Q Casino. Find out more details about the upcoming concert here!
