Construction Accident Tuesday in Sherrill Injures Two Men

Around 9am this morning, the Dubuque County Sheriff’s Office, and Sherrill and Holy Cross Fire Departments responded to 22670 Basswood Ln, Sherrill, for a construction accident. A wooden structure frame from the side of a building was struck and laying on the ground with two male subjects underneath it. 22 year old Adam Hershberger and 22 year old Raymond Strutzman, both from Edgewood, Iowa, were working on the wall when a mechanical lift carrying 2x4s tipped into the wall causing it to fall. Both subjects fell approximately 15 feet to the ground before the structure landed on top of them. Sherrill Ambulance along with Holy Cross Ambulance transported both subjects to Mercy Hospital. Hershberger was then airlifted to University of Iowa Hospital. The medical status of Hershberger and Strutzman are unknown at this time.
