Tracy Lawrence Reveals ‘Made in America’ Title Track + Album Details [LISTEN]

Country music mainstay Tracy Lawrence has shared the title track for his forthcoming new album Made in America, out Aug. 16, completing your Memorial Day weekend playlist of patriotic country songs. The new song keeps alive the bluesy, rocking country sound Lawrence fans have come to know and love over the singer's 15 prior albums, while celebrating the American fortitude fueling everything from physically tasking factory work to game-winning touchdown drives. It's not too different from Alabama's "40 Hour Week (For a Livin')" or even heartland rock hero John Mellencamp's "Pink Houses," but that's an okay thing. Sometimes, a new spin on a familiar topic hits the spot.

During an April interview with The Boot on the ACM Awards red carpet, Lawrence revealed that he co-wrote eight of the album's 12 songs. "Made in America" was co-written by Lawrence, Rick Huckaby and Adam Sanders.

"This album is very country. [There's a] little rock, little blues-rock stuff at the end of it, but there's some amazing tracks on this album," Lawrence told The Boot. "I think it's one of the best albums that I have made in a long time."

In addition, Lawrence predicted a general turn toward more traditional sounds "over the next few years." He admits that he's hoping that'll lead to a "soften[ing] up" of production styles, where vocals aren't turned up so loud as compared to the rest of the music.
