The music of Neil Diamond is as timeless as any American musical catalog. Over the course of his seven-decade-long career, he's scored ten No. 1 singles, has acted in numerous films, and is a member of the Songwriters Hall of Fame and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Now consider Bobby Vee, a teen idol of the 1960s, whose career began around the time Diamond's started. Vee has 38 Hot 100 chart hits and six gold singles, becoming one of the biggest pop sensations of the time.

The two worlds collide as the family of late legend Bobby Vee will be celebrating and performing the music from Neil Diamond's timeless catalog at University of Dubuque (UD) Heritage Center in October. On October 4th at 7:30pm, UD Heritage Center welcomes "Matt Vee's Music of Neil Diamond: I Am... He Said," a dazzling showcase of Diamond's hits and deep cuts performed by The Killer Vees, a band comprised of Bobby's surviving family members.

He also took a moment to speak about The Killer Vees as a band:

[Bobby Vee's] family has kind of carried on his tradition with this group, The Killer Vees. [They're] two of Bobby Vee's sons, Jeff and Tommy, and then their cousin, Matt [....] There's actually even a grandson in the show, their spouses [....] It really is the Vee family musical dynasty [....] They all have this affinity for Neil Diamond. They do the whole treasure trove catalog of hits.
