Kathy Mattea is coming to the Five Flags Theater in Dubuque on Saturday, June 20th, 2026. We want you to "click it for your ticket" and enter to win a pair of tickets to see her live in concert.

Boasting a velvety voice that loans itself to both country and bluegrass stylings, Kathy Mattea is probably best remembered for a handful of songs that reached No. 1 on the Billboard country charts throughout the 1980s, including: "Eighteen Wheels and a Dozen Roses," "Come from the Heart," and "Burnin' Old Memories." Beyond that, she's released 14 studio albums, including her most recent, Pretty Bird, in 2018.

Over the course of 35 years, Mattea has won two Grammys, four CMA Awards, and has five gold albums; even her Greatest Hits album went platinum:

Her latest album is “Pretty Bird", produced by her old friend, roots music wizard Tim O’Brien. The wide-ranging collection of songs chronicles a period of rededication to singing, digging back in with a vocal coach and emerging with a poignant and eclectic CD. In addition to creating and recording music and performing live on tour, Kathy is increasingly involved with public broadcasting, consulting and contributing on screen in Ken Burns’ 2019 documentary for PBS “Country Music”, and recently replacing founder Larry Groce as the host of the long-running NPR show “Mountain Stage” - per Five Flags Center

Kathy Mattea's concert kicks off the Five Flags Center's "90s Country Gold Series," which will stretch into the fall with Collin Raye (September 5th) and Pam Tillis (October 17th) taking the theater stage as well.
