The hornet pictured is a typical hornet found in the United States.  It's much smaller than a Murder Hornet...one insect you don't want to invite to your next picnic.

The Murder hornet was first sighted in the U.S. last December with at least 4 sightings in Washington State. They are about 1 1/2 to 2 inches in length and have a yellowish-orange head. See a photo of these new hornets HERE

Murder Hornets and have been know to kill up to 50 people each year in Japan.  Even worse, they have the potential to wipe out our bee populations here in the United States.

Someone on Youtube was even willing to be stung by one of these "Murder Hornets".  See that video HERE.

Once we are able to enjoy the great outdoors again, lets hope these uninvited guests stay away.  BEE safe!
