Midland were doin' some boot scootin' with Brooks & Dunn during a recent CMT Crossroads episode. Together, the two acts performed Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn's early-'90s hit "Boot Scootin' Boogie."

The TV series — which usually pairs country artists with musicians from other genres to create an epic night of live music — kept its Brooks & Dunn show country music-specific, pairing the iconic duo with rising stars in the genre: Midland, as well as Brett Young, Cody Johnson, Jon Pardi, Brandon Lancaster of Lanco, Luke Combs and more.

Midland, comprised of Mark Wystrach, Cameron Duddy and Jess Carson, also sing "Boot Scootin' Boogie," a 1992 Brooks & Dunn hit, on the duo's recent No. 1 album, Reboot, released in April. The album, as its name implies, features the biggest hits from the best-selling country duo with assists from the aforementioned modern stars (and more, including Thomas Rhett and Kane Brown).

In their live performance, Wystrach and Dunn swap back and forth on vocals throughout the song, with Brooks singing backup and playing the harmonica, while the other two members of Midland rock out on their respective instruments. The group appeared to enjoy their time onstage, and Wystrach and Dunn ended with a sort-of-awkward handshake-turned-high-five and a smile.

Brooks & Dunn's CMT Crossroads episode was originally filmed in Nashville's Lower Broadway district on June 4, the same week as the CMT Music Awards and CMA Fest 2019. Both bands are currently on tour through December, with Brooks & Dunn mostly performing a Las Vegas residency at the Colosseum at Caesar's Palace.
