There's new data that reveals there are 15 highways across America that are the most likely to be the scene of an accident during the hot summer months. There is one specific roadway in Illinois that is featured in that new data. Even though it only crosses a relatively small area of the state, the accident numbers on it are through the roof.
I had data provided to me by the site iSelect. It's a list of 15 interstates in Illinois and how many accidents have been reported on each. It's a new analysis of 61,935 fatal crashes during the summer months between June and August from a few years ago. In Illinois, there were over 1,900 accidents during that time with 29% of fatalities for the year being during those busy summer months.
