Benefit For Joe O’Dell

Had my annual checkup and physical today....good news is I'm doing good.  Healthy for the most part and I'm thankful for that.

As part of my checkup today I had to have my blood drawn.  In making small talk with one of my lab technicians named Crystal, I found out her husband Joe had been recently diagnosed with Cancer and is facing a battle for his life.  I lost my Mom, Rose Peiffer to cancer last year so I know the pain and fear Crystal is going through.  Crystal is standing strong beside her husband and has put together a fundraiser for him scheduled for next Saturday February 28th at the Dubuque County Fairgrounds.  She plans for music, raffles, silent auctions and more.  She explained to me that she is having a hard time raising both cash and prize donations for this fundraiser.   So I'm doing my part to try to help.  If you would be willing to donation cash or if you have items for the raffle and auctions please bring them to the fairgrounds or contact Crystal in the Lab department at Finley Hospital.  As I mentioned earlier, I'm healthy for now...but that could be me or a member of my family going through what Crystal and Joe are dealing with right now.  If you can help great.  If not a simple prayer for Joe will do.  Thanks and God Bless.  Ken
