To quote an Alan Jackson song from the 90's.....Cyndi Lauper has "Gone Country".

That's right the "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" singer is releasing a country album.  But not just any country album, it's a country classics album with songs from the 40's, 50's and 60's.  According to a news release from Webster Public Relations, she's bringing along a few heavy hitters as well including Vince Gill, Emmylou Harris, Alsion Krauss, and Willie Nelson.

Lauper says recording a country album is something she’s dreamed about for many years. Growing up, she recalls listening to singers like Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn, and Wanda Jackson in her Aunt Gracie’s kitchen. “When I was a really young kid, country music was pop music, so this is what we grew up listening to. These songs are part of some of my earliest memories so it has been an absolute thrill to revisit them.”
