Drivers in Asbury may soon be sharing the streets with ATV's and UTV's.  The Asbury City Council is considering a proposal to allow these recreational vehicles on city streets. As of July 1, these types of vehicles are now allowed on county roads in Iowa.

The City Council plans to hear public comments at it's next meeting on July 12th, before voting on the proposal.

If approved, owners would need to register their vehicle with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources.  All drivers will have to be at least 18-years-old, and the ATV's and UTV's can not exceed speeds of 35 miles per hour.
