Dubuque Fire Department Extenguished Vehicle Fire at Unity Point - Finley Hospital
The Dubuque Fire Department responded to a report of a car on fire near the main entrance at UnityPoint Health - Finley Hospital at 8:31 AM today. Crews quickly extinguished a fire in the engine compartment of a car parked near the hospital entrance, and secured the entrance doors to assure no smoke entered the building.
The vehicle, owned by Medical Laboratories of Eastern Iowa, was moved from under the entrance canopy when the driver noticed smoke coming from the engine compartment. The fire is believed to be caused by a component failure in the engine area. No damage estimate is available but the hospital was NOT affected by the fire.
