U.S.61/151 Overnight Closures Starting Monday January 14
OVERNIGHT CLOSURES ON U.S. 61/U.S. 151 IN DUBUQUE BEGIN MONDAY JANUARY 14TH
A project to set bridge beams over U.S. 61/U.S. 151 in Dubuque will require closing the roadway to traffic from U.S. 151 to Maquoketa Drive south of the city nightly from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday, Jan. 14, until 5 a.m. Friday, Jan. 18, weather permitting according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Manchester construction office.
During this closure, traffic will be detoured around the work zone with digital message signs and a marked detour using Military Road from U.S. 151 to Maquoketa Drive. The U.S.151 ramp to U.S. 61 north will also be closed during the road closures.
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
