Now that County Fair Season has come and gone and August is in full swing, our long summer days and event-filled evenings will soon give way to fall. Taking full advantage of the many events is essential to enjoy what remains of summer.

The final Taste of Summer takes place this Tonight, August 4, from 5 to 9 outside the National Mississippi River Museum and Aquarium at the Port of Dubuque.

With weather reports showing low humidity and 83 degrees, this is sure to be one of the quintessential summer evenings at one of Dubuque's most iconic and comfortable venues.

A few picnic tables will be available. Bring your lawn chairs or a blanket with your family and friends to enjoy yet another free admission event featuring live music from "Boys of Lloyd" and "Boogie Monster."

From 6 pm to 7:15, the Boys of Lloyd will take the stage. This brother's guitar duo plays a little bit of everything, and the songs make you want to have a drink in your hand singing along. Find Boys of Lloyd on Facebook

Boogie Monster features dance hits, from blues to funk and disco, throughout the decades. They cover hits from Michael Jackson and Al Green to Earth Wind and Fire to Steely Dan and Fleetwood Mac; the band is primed to get the crowd's groove on. Find Boogie Monster on Facebook

You can enjoy a "Taste" of some of the Tri-State's best food along with ice-cold beverages.

Featured Food Vendors:

  • The Crepe Iron
  • Magoo's Pizza
  • Happi Hibachi
  • Vesperman Farms Ice Cream Truck

Taste of Summer is open to all ages and is free to attend. Both beverage sales and freewill donations support the River Museum's conservation efforts to save endangered species. In addition, food vendors will compete for the "Best Vendor" prize at each of the three events.

Ample free parking is available in the public lots outside the River Museum.
