Tim’s Test Kitchen Review: Premium Steak & Seafood Strips
We've all heard the offer, "8 strips for 20 bucks." You can't help but wonder how they taste. After a live broadcast yesterday at the Premium Steaks and Seafood Truckload sale, in the Theisen's parking lot in Dubuque, we decided to put them to the test.
Here we have a box of 8 frozen strip steaks, each around 5 ounces, individually vacuum sealed and frozen.
After getting them good and thaw, I brushed them with a bit of olive oil and added a little salt and some ground mixed peppercorns.
At Tim's Test Kitchen, grilling with gas is frowned upon, so we placed these steaks on a good, hot charcoal grill.
We grilled them over direct heat for what turned out to be a bit too long, 2.5 minutes per side.
Then, after letting them sit for a minute, down the hatch they went.
As you can see, they reached the well-done stage, which is beyond what we were shooting for. The steaks were juicy and flavorful, though.
Overall these were tasty little steaks, and the individual packaging makes them handy to have in the freezer. Premium Steaks and Seafood Truckload Sale Strips get the Tim's Test Kitchen Seal of Approval.
