The Dubuque Farmers Market will happen again this Saturday May 21,  With a little something extra taking place.  "Touch a Truck"

The City of Dubuque is celebrating National Public Works Week, May 15-21, 2022. The week recognizes the contributions of public works professionals to the communities they serve.

Public works professionals with the City of Dubuque work in departments that provide clean drinking water, stormwater and sewer management, engineering services, trash and recycling collection, and maintain the city’s street infrastructure, riverfront property, landfill, as well as public facilities and grounds. They are, in short, the people who keep our city running by providing services vital to our community’s health, safety, and comfort.

In celebration, the City’s public works department will host a ‘touch a truck’ event at the Dubuque Farmers’ Market this Saturday, May 21. A sanitation truck with new automated side-loading technology and other street maintenance equipment will be on display for residents to see firsthand. Public works staff will be on site with City-issued trash, recycling, and yard waste carts to showcase how the carts interact with the side-loading technology, and answer questions from residents on curbside collection options offered by the City.

For additional information on this event, please contact Assistant Public Works Director Arielle Swift at 563-589-4250 or Aswift@cityofdubuque.org.
