You know how you sometimes think you know about something, even though it's been a while since you've been there?  When is the last time you visited the ice arena near Chaplain Schmitt Island in Dubuque?

Dubuque Ice Arena

Yes, the arena has been there a while.  And yes it's still the home of our local hockey team, the Dubuque Fighting Saints.  But the arena has a new name.

The former Mystique Community Ice Center is now known as the Dubuque Ice Arena. The Dubuque Ice Arena is a 3,200-seat, single-sheet ice rink and event space that serves the City of Dubuque and surrounding communities in Iowa, as well as nearby communities in Wisconsin and Illinois.

If you want to see what's new at the Dubuque Ice Arena, plan to stop by the grand re-opening and Open House Wednesday, November 2nd from 4 pm to 6 pm.  This event is free and open to the public.

The day's festivities will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony, arena tours, and ice skating.  And what would an Open House be without cake and refreshments?  Both will be provided. There's even a Dj in the lounge to add to the entertainment.

As I mentioned earlier, the Dubuque Ice Arena is home to the Dubuque Fighting Saints. But it also hosts events for Dubuque Youth Hockey, Dubuque Saints High School Hockey, Dubuque Senior Saints, and both Loras and UW Platteville hockey clubs.

Come see what's new (besides the name) at the Dubuque Ice Arean during the free Open House Wednesday, November 2nd
