The Boot News Roundup: Runaway June Set a Record With Top 20 Song + More

For the chart week dated June 15, country trio Runaway June became the first female country band or trio in 14 years to earn a Top 20 single -- a feat the group's Hannah Mulholland calls "insane." With this latest chart achievement, courtesy of their single "Buy My Own Drinks," Mulholland and bandmates Naomi Cooke and Jennifer Wayne become the first all-female trio in more than 10 years to earn three Top 40 hits.

Singer-songwriter Jeremy Ivey has signed a record deal with ANTI- Records, to release his debut solo album. Margo Price, his wife, produced his first single, "Story of a Fish," and his full album is due out by the end of 2019. According to MusicRow, the project will incorporate elements of folk, pop, psychedelia and Americana; "I’m trying to fill the holes that I can see in the scene," Ivey says.

The Marcus King Band Family Reunion will bring Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit and more to Asheville, N.C., in September. Hosted by soulful Southern rockers the Marcus King Band, the event -- set for Sept. 27-28 at Pisgah Brewing Company -- will also feature Josh Ritter, Amanda Shires, Futurebirds, Los Coast and Charley Overbey & the Broken Arrows, along with the Marcus King Band themselves.
