The National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium is welcoming all individuals on the autism spectrum; those who have sensory processing disorders, and anyone who may benefit from a sensory-friendly environment, to the River Museum’s second Sensory Morning this Saturday (6/25). Regular admission rates will apply to all those attending. From 8 to 10am, the River Museum will host a sensory-friendly event throughout its campus. This means the museum will have dimmed lighting, limited extra and ambient sounds, and no distracting exhibit motions during the event. This will not affect animal exhibits as all River Museum animals will be available for viewing by attendees.

Families of children, teenagers, and young adults who may benefit from a sensory-friendly environment, are all invited to attend. This event is just one of the many outreach programs that are available at the National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium. Other programs include early explorers, toddler time, camps, special programs, and school visits. New and going on now is the Forever Forest Exhibit, with loads for kids to do!
