Obit: Wager on Huskers over Hawkeyes
"In lieu of flowers, please place an irresponsibly large wager on Nebraska beating Iowa."
The family of a former Nebraska pharmacist included a request for a football wager on Nebraska's final game of the 2021 season in his obituary last week. Milton Munson's obituary described a complicated, colorful life and included references to mental health struggles, gambling and addiction issues. "In lieu of flowers, please place an irresponsibly large wager on Nebraska beating Iowa" reads one line of the obit.
Son: (Huskers are) "truly a lost cause."
Munson died November 16th in Grand Island, Nebraska. His son, Todd, said; “If the ghost of my old man can’t will the Huskers to victory on Friday, then they truly are a lost cause.” Nebraska, a 4-point favorite, lost to Iowa on Saturday, 28-21 in Lincoln.
