If you've attended an event or fundraiser in the past year or two at the Dubuque County Fairgrounds and event center or bought a raffle ticket or 50/50 ticket, you can now see your dollars at work.  I stopped by the Fairgrounds to vote in their Annual Dubuque County Fair Board elections and Kevin, Mike, Dee, Sierra, and the rest of the fairgrounds crew was hard at work.....removing the old chairs and setting up brand new ones.

Kevin Kotz, the fairgrounds General Manager told me they'd been waiting a long time to upgrade the chairs in the Grand Ballroom...and now thanks to you and your support of fairgrounds events, they are able to do it.  The plan is also to replace all the old heavy tables with brand new, lighter tables, to match the new chairs.

Kudos to Kevin and his crew for constantly striving to improve things at the fairgrounds. Since Kevin took over several years ago there have been numerous improvements inside the facilities, in the parking lot, and on the grounds. There's a lot more going on the fairgrounds than the Annual Dubuque County Fair in July.  There are weddings, dances, auctions, Blue Ribbon Breakfasts and prime rib dinners, races, monster truck shows, flea markets, gun shows, craft shows, and more. If you haven't been to an event at the fairgrounds lately, maybe you should stop by and see what's new.  For rental information or to check out their current event schedule just visit their website at www.dbqfair.com.

And mark your calendars for the 69th Annual Dubuque County Fair July 26 through July 31, 2022
