There was a time when Morgan Wallen couldn't even dream of the life he is living right now, much less a life that has included becoming friends with country superstar Luke Bryan.

But that’s exactly what ended up happening over the summer when Wallen headed out on Bryan's What Makes You Country Tour.

"Obviously I didn’t have a clue what to expect or didn’t know him at all," Wallen says in a new interview with Taste of Country Nights. "But we ended up just hitting it off and becoming friends and hanging together through the day and after the show — that kind of thing. I really got to know a lot of his people in his camp and they are just amazing people, man. I’m never going to forget this past summer."

On the last day of the tour, the two made another memory together when Bryan invited Wallen onstage with him to perform his No. 1 single, "Up Down."

"I had no idea we were going to do that," he admits with a laugh. The moment — seen in the video below — was caught on tape by a fan in the crowd. "It was interesting. We didn’t practice it or anything like that, we just went out and winged it together."

Now, Wallen has his sights on what’s next: hanging out with Jake Owen on Owen's Life’s Whatcha Make It Tour. Wallen is also looking to follow up his chart-topping single with his brand new song, "Whiskey Glasses."
