Morgan Evans Joins Flu-Ridden Kelsea Ballerini Onstage for Romantic Duet [Watch]
Kelsea Ballerini and husband Morgan Evans made sweet music together during the country singer's first headlining show at the Ryman Auditorium on Wednesday night (Feb. 14).
Coincidentally, the show fell on Valentine's Day, so the performance was even more "aww"-inducing when the newlywed couple sang "Dance With Me" — a song Evans wrote for his now wife — together for the first time.
Ballerini was battling the flu, but that didn't keep her from her Ryman appearance. She was a trooper, singing the song with her husband by her side. Evans surprised her with a bouquet of roses when he walked onstage. With just an acoustic guitar to back them, Ballerini and Evans let the lyrics do the talking as they softly sang, their voices complementing each other.
"If you dance with me / Feel my heart beat / Through your body to your feet / If you dance with me / Hold me in the darkness / Until both your eyes can see," they sing in harmony in the clip above as a silence falls over the audience.
Kelsea Ballerini's First Kiss Was a Disaster
"I was at home on the couch, and she was on one of the morning shows, and I was waiting for her to come on," Evans recalls, describing how "Dance With me" was born, according to the Tennessean. "They were talking about some gossip thing, and I wasn't into it. I muted the TV and picked up a guitar."
The couple married in December of 2017 in a beachside ceremony in Cabo San Lucas. The "Peter Pan" singer's first headlining show at the historic Ryman is part of her 2018 Unapologetically Tour that runs through April.
