The marriage of LEGO and movie properties is a gift that keeps on giving. Their latest incredibly cool set is an impressively detailed Aston Martin DB5, the car of choice of everyone’s favorite secret agent, James Bond. Bond’s Aston Martin debuted in 1964’s Goldfinger; the film became the signature 007 adventure and the car the signature 007. Bond’s had other cars over the years, but the Aston Martin is the one that keeps coming back. (He drove it again in Skyfall.) LEGO’s version, per LEGO’s site, comes with all kinds of working details:

Authentic replica of the world-famous 1964 Aston Martin DB5 sports car, featuring a classic design with drum-lacquered silver front and rear bumpers, moulded silver-coloured wire wheel rim inserts, opening boot, bonnet and doors, and a wealth of James Bond™ gadgetry, including a working ejector seat, revolving number plates, rear-window bulletproof screen, front wing machine guns and wheel-mounted tyre scythes.

You can see some of those gadgets in the video above. I love the ejector seat.

I bought the Ghostbusters ECTO-1 LEGO, which was super fun to build, and the Back to the Future DeLorean, which I liked even better. But this one looks like the coolest of all three, thanks to all of the accurate gadgets, and the working parts and what not. My one gripe: No 007 minifig is included. Who is going to drive this thing? (I guess Marty McFly or Doc Brown, at least in my case.)

The set is available today for LEGO VIPs. Everyone else can get it on August 1.
