For most children, LEGOs are an indispensable toy. Their impact is immeasurable, as they teach kids how to follow instructions and use their imagination in creative and inventive ways. The LEGO collector market has exploded in recent years, which has led to the rise in LEGO conventions all across the country.

With that, a first-of-its-kind LEGO convention is coming to the Quad Cities this month. The Quad Cities Brick Convention will erect itself in the area on September 23rd and 24th. Professional LEGO artists from all around the United States will display their creations and interact with fans, per a media release.

The Quad Cities Brick Convention will happen at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds in Davenport, and welcomes all ages to attend. In addition to the aforementioned LEGO artists will be a "construction zone," which encourages eventgoers to get creative and build with thousands of bricks available. That alone almost makes the event worth attending.

"Live builds" will also take place, which will have professional LEGO builders erecting sets before an audience. Other activities and attractions will include:

Tickets for the Quad Cities Brick Convention are only $14.99 for either Saturday or Sunday, but are expected to sell out quickly. Those in attendance will also be supporting a volunteer-led non-profit:

BRICK CONVENTION is an event like no other and brings all of the creative hands-on, minds-on fun of LEGO® building and experiences together in one activity- and entertainment-packed family event for children of all ages and builders of all skills and interests.

A portion of the proceeds from each Brick Convention is donated to Creations for Charity. Creations for Charity is an all-volunteer nonprofit organization that buy new LEGO sets for underprivileged children around the world during the holidays. - per the Brick Convention's website
