One of the most popular bands in country music from the 1990s to the mid-2000s will be taking the stage at the Iowa State Fair this summer.

Country music band The Chicks (formerly known as "Dixie Chicks") will be performing as part of the 2023 Iowa State Fair Grandstand Concert Series. They'll be performing along with special guest Ben Harper. The news was announced on the Iowa State Fair's Facebook page, which also revealed The Chicks' performance is scheduled for 8pm on August 19th, 2023.

The Chicks are responsible for several multi-platinum albums and several extraordinarily popular songs, including "There's Your Trouble," "Wide Open Spaces," "Cowboy Take Me Away," and "Travelin' Soldier" (a cover of Bruce Robison's song).

In 2020, the band removed "Dixie" from their name, due to its negative connotations, rebranded as The Chicks, and then released Gaslighter, their first album in 14 years. Now, they're set to take an already stacked stage at the Iowa State Fair in August!

As of this writing, several acts are already set to be a part of the 2023 Grandstand Concert Series at the Iowa State Fair, including: For King + Country; Tyler Hubbard (of Florida Georgia Line) alongside Parmalee; Eric Church and Jackson Dean; and now, The Chicks.

Tickets for The Chicks' show will go on sale on the Iowa State Fair's website on Thursday, February 16th at 10am CST. For more information on the show, visit the Fair's website. For more information on the music of The Chicks, or their upcoming tour, click here!
