Kane Brown has been mourning the recent death of his longtime friend and drummer, Kenny Dixon, but the country singer says the impending birth of his daughter, Kingsley, is helping him deal with some of his sadness.

Brown turned to social media on Sunday (Oct. 20) to post a video of the nursery he and his wife, Katelyn, have set up for their daughter, who is due any day now.

"We have had some super rough days lately.. but this puts a smile on my face," he writes alongside a heart emoji. "Kings rooms finished."

The video shows a beautiful nursery with high ceilings draped with fabric, Kingsley's name lit up in a neon light above her crib and a number of fanciful touches, but it also looks like the parents-to-be are stocked with everything they'll need to take good care of their new arrival.

Dixon died in a car accident on Oct. 12. Brown turned to Instagram on Oct. 13 to write a touching tribute to his friend, who started out with him long before most people had heard of Brown and lived long enough to experience massive success.

Brown broke down during his acceptance speech at the 2019 CMT Artists of the Year ceremony on Oct. 16, during which he dedicated the award to Dixon.

"He started with me coming out of Chattanooga off Facebook, people didn’t think we would make it, he was with me the whole time," he recalled tearfully. "He was so supportive of me. And I love you man, I miss you. The band misses you."

Thomas Rhett made headlines when he prayed for Brown and his band during the ceremony, and Chris Young also performed his latest single, "Drowning," in Dixon's memory.

Brown wed Katelyn Jae in October of 2018, and the couple announced her pregnancy in April of 2019. They revealed they were expecting a girl in May when they walked the red carpet together at the Billboard Music Awards.
