Jason Aldean Raises $700,000 for Sick Kids in His Hometown
Jason Aldean has a soft spot for kids, but especially kids in his home state. The country star returned to his hometown of Macon, Ga., on Aug. 11 to host the second-ever Concert for Kids, raising $700,000 in the process.
All of the proceeds will go to the Beverly Knight Olson Children’s Hospital, Navicent Health, which is a dedicated pediatric hospital that provides children access to the clinical services they need. Along with Aldean, the concert also featured fast-rising country star Luke Combs and local singers Maggie Renfroe and Trey Teem. The $700,000 raised at the 2017 event brings the total to $1.2 million over two years, benefiting the development of Macon's new children's hospital.

“Macon will always be my roots. When I moved away to chase music, all I wanted to do was make my family and hometown proud. But, I’m just a singer. I’m honored to be able to do do what I do to help raise money, but the doctors and staff are the heroes and are changing these kids lives,” Aldean says in a press release.
The hospital has named a part of the street that runs alongside the children's hospital in after the star, recently unveiling an official street sign for Jason Aldean Way. “We are so very appreciative of Jason’s continued support for our patients at Beverly Knight Olson Children’s Hospital, Navicent Health. Jason is a hometown hero who is truly giving back to our young patients and their families," says Ninfa M. Saunders, president and CEO of Navicent Health. "We are most appreciative of his commitment to their healing and care.”
Aldean is currently embarking on his 2017 They Don’t Know Tour.
