The annual Thursday Night Groove Concert Series is coming back to Rock Island this August.  It's your chance to enjoy some free live music with one of the best views in the city.

The concert series will be held on the Ellis Kell Stage at Schwiebert Riverfront Park (1st Avenue and 18th Street in Rock Island).  Thursday Night Groove begins at 6 p.m., with food and beer available for sale. A featured food truck will be on site each week, along with beer sales by Bent River Brewing Company.

The concerts will be from 7:00 to 9:00 each Thursday and feature:

  • August 13 – LowDown Brass Band: Presented by Alternating Currents
  • August 20 – Fair Warning
  • August 27 – Class of ’82
  • September 3 – Danny’s Book Club Band
  • September 10 – The Blackstones
  • September 17 – Dietz Soliz Band
  • September 24 – The Beth Lizano Band
  • October 1 – Crooked Cactus Band
  • October 8 – Funktastic 5

Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs...unless you plan to dance for 2 hours.  Parking is available in the lot at 17th Street and 1st Avenue (next to the playground) after 6 p.m., or across 1st Avenue and throughout downtown Rock Island.

The Thursday Night Groove concert series is presented by Rock Island Happy Joe’s, with additional sponsorship from Friendship Manor, Gas & Electric Credit Union, The Arc of the Quad Cities, Alternating Currents, Rock Island Downtown Alliance and Bent River Brewing Company.
