Illinois Woman Shoots Boyfriend In Back As He Tries To Leave Apartment With Fistful Of Her Hair
A woman is charged with first-degree murder after her boyfriend was shot.
According to WGN, Lindsy Kendrick, 31, was already on probation when she allegedly shot her boyfriend in Yorkville, in the 100-block of West Hydraulic Street.
Police found her boyfriend, Daevin Wlodek, 28, suffering from an apparent gunshot would inside the apartment. Wlodek was found shirtless, laying face-down, with a chambered gun laying near his right foot.
Kendrick was the one who called 911 to report her boyfriend was shot. The officer who was at the scene said Kendrick was on the scene, on her cellphone, and told someone "he has a gun in there" and "he shot it". She described the atmosphere pre-shooting as: "I'm sure we were both in a fit of rage."
She says Wlodek attacked her and then he shot himself. Upon the autopsy, long blonde hair was found intertwined in his right hand and fingers.

However, when detectives moved to do a gunshot residue kit test on her hands, she declined. Wlodek’s autopsy found the bullet's entrance was in the back of his head and went through his chest.
The autopsy also found "minor scratches, abrasions and bruising" on his lower extremities, hands, and neck. There were no substantial injuries found on Kendrick.
The gunshot residue kit test did get done on an "an exigent circumstance basis". Before her latest arrest, Kendrick was already on probation following a battery charge in Cook County earlier this year and also has a revoked FOID card.
