New Restaurant Opens Inside Dubuque’s Diamond Jo Casino

A new restaurant located inside one of Dubuque's casinos is now open and boasting a large menu of items whilst functioning like two restaurants in one.

Inside Diamond Jo Casino is now a restaurant known as Bell Street Eatery, which opened last week. Located on the northwest corner of the casino floor, where the buffet used to be located, Telegraph Herald's "Biz Times" caught up with Jeff Goudie, Diamond Jo's food and beverage director, who had a hand in curating Bell Street's menu to match the food tastes of those in Dubuque.

What Kind of Food Does Bell Street Eatery Serve?:

Bell Street Eatery specializes in "American casual comfort food," per "Biz Times." All-day breakfast is available with items such as chicken and waffles and breakfast sandwiches alike. Lunch and dinner options are akin to a supper club with fried catfish, fried chicken, shrimp, Roman-style pizza, and baby-back ribs as available options.

The restaurant operates on a hybrid model, meaning patrons can sit down for a full meal or grab a snack at the counter and eat while they wander the casino.

How Bell Street Eatery Incorporates Robots:

Bell Street Eatery operates on a hybrid model. Patrons can grab a quick snack at the counter or sit down for a full meal. Per "Biz Times," the restaurant also utilizes robotics technology in the form of two machines, named "Alice" and "Mel," that run food. Goudie stated that it's an effort to embrace both technology and efficiency.

While counter service is available every day, table service at the restaurant is exclusive to Fridays and Saturdays. Delivery is unavailable, but carry-out options do exist. Presently, they do not accept recommendation, but the eatery has a large enough space to accommodate virtually any party size.

One of the goals of Bell Street Eatery is not only to cater to in-casino customers, but also be a dining (and coffee) destination for those on the outside.
