5-Star Guard Jalen Davis Names Iowa Among Top 10 Schools

The Iowa men's basketball program continues to reap the rewards of an Elite Eight run in the NCAA Tournament. Ben McCollum's team at Iowa is now a must-visit program, especially for guards. Bennet Stirtz might have had something to do with that too. Now, one of the top high school basketball players in the nation has Iowa on his list of top college choices.

Class of 2027 Guard Has Iowa in His Top 10

The Des Moines Register reports that guard Jalen Davis has Iowa on his list of top college choices. The 6'4" guard is a 5-star prospect and is ranked 20th nationally in the class of 2027. Davis attends Bremerton High School in Washington. According to the Register, Davis has his college choice narrowed down to Iowa,  Texas Tech, UCLA, USC, Washington, Gonzaga, BYU, Ole Miss, TCU, and Stanford.

Davis has led Bremerton to back-to-back state titles and is the reigning Gatorade Washington Player of the Year, according to the Register. 

Davis currently has five official school visits scheduled, according to the Register. They include Iowa,  Gonzaga, Ole Miss, Stanford, and UCLA.

Iowa Also Targeting Several Other High-Profile Guards

The Register reports that Iowa is also targeting 5-star guard Cayden Daughtry in the class of 2027 and 4-star guard Jaxson Davis. Iowa recently made Davis' top 6 schools.
