With Halloween just around the corner, there are plenty of things to scare you.  For me, I'm scared of a few things but none of them are Halloween-related. I'm scared for the kind of world my grandkids will grow up in. And I'm scared of what crazy things Russian president Putin might do including using nuclear weapons

I can't control either of those things, and chances are you can't either.  But if you want to be scared for fun, there are plenty of ways to do that this time of year.  A Haunting on Lincoln Ave. is returning to the Mathias Ham Historic Site in Dubuque on October 22nd. Daytime half-hour guided tours will take place from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with two evening one-hour tours at 7 p.m. and 8 p.m.

A special twist has been added for this year. Both afternoon and evening tours will be led by the Ham’s “daughters,” Sarah and Macy. Sarah and Macy will reveal the history and stories the house has to offer while preparing and holding their own Halloween party. The afternoon tours will be geared toward all audiences, while the evening tours are slightly spookier.

Daytime tours are $7.50 for adults/$4.00 for youth. Evening tours are $10 for adults/$7 for youth. Children three and younger are free.
