Hooley Hustle This Weekend

Looking for some fun this weekend?  Don't miss the Dubuque Jaycees 2nd annual 'Hooley Hustle 5k' run and walk in the port of Dubuque.

The event is this Saturday morning (8/22). Before you get in a panic, organizers are promising a 'flat and fast' course that runners and walkers of any ability can enjoy. Haley Taylor (pictued here) was on the Good Morning Rodeo this morning with details.

The event will be held in the port of Dubuque, with the National Mississippi River Museum as the starting point of the 3.1 mile course.  The kid's 1/2 mile fun run starts at 8:15am and the 5k run/walk starts at 8:30am.

Using a new time prediction concept, participants will guess how long they think it will take them to complete the course.  Those who finish closest to their estimated time have a shot at prizes! There will also be a costume contest, so wear your hooley best!

Participants will receive admission to the music festival following the 5k along with race swag.

Proceeds from this event will benefit the Girl Scouts of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois.
