Authorities have now identified the driver seriously injured on Thursday morning on Highway 20 near Peosta. 57 year old Randy Moser of Guttenberg, Iowa remains in critical condition at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

Update on this morning's accident on Highway 20 near Peosta

On April 22  at approximately 7:20am Dubuque County Deputies located a motor vehicle collision that had just occurred ¼ of a mile east of the intersection of Hwy 20 and Cox Springs.

A cement truck owned by Horsfield Construction and operated by 27 year old Dakoda Elledge of Colesburg was traveling in the slow lane eastbound on Highway 20. An Iowa State Department of Transportation vehicle was also traveling in the eastbound lane and struck the rear of the Horsfield Cement truck. The driver of the DOT vehicle was transported to a local hospital and subsequently airlifted to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics with life threatening injuries. His name will be released at a later time..The driver of the Horsfield cement truck was not injured.

Traffic Eastbound on Highway 20 was backed up for several miles.  Motorists were eventually detoured around the accident scene.

Assisting at the scene were Peosta Centralia fire and ambulance, Epworth Police Department and the Iowa Motor Vehicle Enforcement division.
