Hazardous Waste and Electronics Collection to Resume in Dubuque
If you've been waiting to properly dispose of hazardous materials or electronics, these items are once again being collected by the City of Dubuque.
The Dubuque Metropolitan Area Solid Waste Agency will be resuming operations at their Regional Collection Center for household hazardous wastes and electronics to residents of Dubuque and Delaware County the week of September 22. Appointments are required and will be scheduled on select dates and times. Appointments can be made by visiting https://www.dmaswa.org/household-hazardous-materials-collection-event.
To maintain social distancing and the health of employees and residents, residents will be required to unload all items without assistance from staff and face coverings (masks or face shields) will be required.
Acceptable Household Hazardous Items Include:
- Household cleaners
- Motor Oil/Oil Filters
- Old Gasoline
- Residential Fertilizers/Pesticides
- Aerosol Cans
- Antifreeze
- Household Fluorescent Bulbs
- CFL’s
- Mercury Bulbs
- Halogen Bulbs
- Sharps (In Rigid, Sealed Containers)
- Rechargeable batteries
- Ink/Toner cartridges
- Oil Based Paint
- Latex Paint
Acceptable Electronics Items Include:
- TV’s, Monitors & Laptops PCs (For a Fee)
- All other household consumer electronics accepted at no charge including but not limited to:
- Stereo Equipment
- Game consoles
- VCR/DVD/Blu-ray Players
- Tablets & Smartphones
