Gwen Stefani Reacts to Blake Shelton Being Named Sexiest Man Alive: ‘He’s Perfect for It’
“He’s perfect for it,” she admits. “Somebody that is funny and has a sense of humor is sexy — that’s the No. 1 thing.”
Stefani is clearly smitten with her man, but she truly admires his talent, saying that Shelton is "at the top" of his game. He's arm candy, but also "cool," "genuine" and "generous," in Stefani's eyes.
"He doesn’t even know how cute he is. [He]’s cocky but only because he’s a cowboy!” the No Doubt singer continues. For Stefani, it's not the physical attributes that make someone attractive, but who they are on the inside that counts, and she's drawn to Shelton's kind ways.
“It’s interesting because I don’t think any of those things like beauty or sexy or whatever way you want to describe humans is necessarily a physical thing that people are attracted to,” she explains. "It’s all about the heart, and he has that big ol’ gigantic heart in there, so he’s quite an attractive human. I’m not the only one that thinks it!"
In typical Shelton fashion, he reacted to the news that he'd been crowned Sexiest Man Alive with humor, joking that there must not have been many contenders, since he was selected. Of course, he's very excited to rub in the news in fellow The Voice coach Adam Levine's face.
"Y'all must be running out of people ... Like, wow, we’re down to somebody who is somewhat symmetrical," he says. “I can’t wait to shove this up Adam’s ass. As proud as I am and honored that you guys asked me, that’s really the only thing I care about.”
The official Sexiest Man Alive issue of People Magazine hit newsstands on Nov. 15.
