
Fatal Deer Hunting Accident on Saturday near Galena, IL
Hunting season is always a dangerous time and again this year we urge you to use extreme caution when hunting. A Scales Mound, Illinois man was killed on Saturday while hunting. Below is the official release from the Illinois DNR
Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) Conservation Police Officers are currently investigating a fatal hunting accident which occurred at 2:45 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, 2019 off of Tippett Road near Galena in Jo Daviess County.
Brian Busker, 39, Scales Mound, suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced dead at the scene by Elizabeth Ambulance. Busker, along with 10 other hunters, was participating in a deer drive at the time of the accident.
Illinois Conservation Police is leading the investigation, with assistance from Illinois State Police and the Jo Daviess County Sheriff’s Office
