Earth Day Founder was From Iowa
As we discussed with today's Really Tough Trivia Question on 103.3 WJOD, Iowa-born John McConnell conceived the idea of Earth Day in 1968, and presented the concept at a large United Nations conference in San Francisco in late November 1969. The Davis City native wrote the Earth Day proclamation and even designed the Earth Day Flag himself.
