Starting today, Iowa retailers can once again accept the 5 cent can returns from it's customers.  The redemption had been stopped by Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds’ due to COVI-19, but that emergency declaration expired on Sunday July 26th.

Eagles on Elm Street is accepting cans as long as they are clean and dry. However when contacted today July 27th, all 3 Dubuque Hy-Vee locations and Fareway in Dubuque say they will are still not accepting container returns for health safety reasons. Each Fareway store has a notice listing other redemption centers.  Hy-Vee also referred us to the Iowa Can Redemption Center behind Hobby Lobby in Dubuque.

You can also donate your cans/bottles at the Dubuque Veterans Freedom Center on Kerper Boulevard.

There is no word on when Hy-Vee or Fareway will start accepting can and bottle returns
