A Dubuque man has been arrested after leading Dubuque Police on a high-speed chase.  Police say they originally stopped 64-year-old Ronald F Ward of Dubuque after he was clocked at 74 miles an hour in a 55 mile per hour zone near the junction of Hiway 61 and Hiway 151 South of Dubuque.  Official court documents state Ward initially pulled into the parking lot of the Dubuque Regional Airport but refused to exit his vehicle. He eventually drove off, driving the wrong way past a do not enter sign and returning to Hiway 61 North.

Police followed Ward in a chase that resulted in speeds over 70 miles per hour.  Dubuque County Sheriff's Department employed a tire-deflation device in the area of U.S. 61/151 and Digital Drive, deflating one of the vehicle’s tires.

Ward finally pulled over on Lake Eleanor Road where he was arrested.  Ward faces several charges from the high-speed chase including speeding, no insurance and reckless driving.  He's also facing additional charges of interference with official acts and warrants charging two counts of fifth-degree theft, two counts of failure to appear and two counts of violation of pretrial supervision.
