Dubuque Invites Input on Comiskey Park Plans
The City of Dubuque Leisure Services Department is seeking public input on the Re-Imagine Comiskey master plan which includes a new playground and splash pad.
The playground will include a large play structure and a variety of separate play components. Examples of possible play components include swings, climbing structures, balance equipment, individual and group spinners, and outdoor musical elements. The input will help inform the types of equipment and activities that will be included in the final playground design. The City is also seeking feedback on types of splash pad equipment and the overall park color scheme.
The public is invited to view the Re-Imagine Comiskey master plan and complete the community survey at cityofdubuque.org/comiskey. The survey will be open through Wednesday, May 19, 2021.
The City has been gathering input on the redevelopment of Comiskey Park since January 2020. Ideas for potential improvements to the park were provided through paper and online surveys, large group meetings, focus groups, and a youth workshop. The input informed the park’s master plan which was presented to the Parks and Recreation Commission in April.
Due to funding, construction of the Comiskey Park improvements will be phased. The first phase of construction is expected to occur in 2021.
