Dubuque Halloween Parade
Big thanks to everyone who attended last night's Dubuque Community YMCA/YWCA Halloween Parade in Dubuque. With temps in the 70's it was the warmest Halloween Parade I can remember. Hopefully you ended up with some of the 50 pounds of candy and treats we gave away last night.
The Parade drew about 60 entrants and more than 1,000 participants.
Awards were given to the top three groups, as well as the best family theme and the entrant with the best special effects. Winners will not have to pay entry fees next year and will be permitted to line up at the front of the parade.
First Place: A haunted castle with a DJ from Strictly Shingles of Apple River, Ill.
Second Place: "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" from McGraw-Hill Education.
Third Place: Disney's "Frozen" from Ubersox Auto Group, of Platteville, Wis.
Judges Award for Best Family: "Harry Potter" from the Day family.
Judges Award for Special Effects: The "Last Ride Hearse" from the Ennis family.
