Here's a nice surprise for the New Year: The Dixie Chicks announced on social media Wednesday (Jan. 10) that their new live album, Dixie Chicks MMXVI Live, will now be available everywhere for download or streaming on Friday (Jan. 12). In their post, the Texas trio treated fans to live snippets of what's included on the release, including such favorites as "Long Time Gone," "Not Ready To Make Nice," and "Top of the World."

The set comprises performances from the group's DCX MMXVI World Tour, which marked the first time they'd headlined the U.S. and Australia since 2007 and included a number of prominent international stops.

In addition to performing even more signature tracks such as "Goodbye Earl," "Travelin' Soldier" and "Cowboy Take Me Away" on the tour, they also treated the crowd to covers of Bob Dylan's "Mississippi" and Beyonce's "Daddy Lessons," the latter of which they also performed at the 2016 CMA Awards with fellow Texas native Bey herself.

The Dixie Chicks are undoubtedly one of the most influential—as well as controversial—groups in country music, with their skillful catalog providing a model for modern female country artists. The three studio albums they delivered between 1998 and 2002 won a formidable combined collection of Grammy, ACM and CMA awards.
