An upcoming benefit looks to hit the road in support of an eastern Iowa woman who is fighting cancer all while trying to be a wife, mother, and grandmother to her family.

Deb Deppe was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer in April 2022; since her diagnosis, the disease has spread to her live and lungs. She has undergone chemotherapy treatments, biopsies, and treatment for blood clots, enduing three different hospital stays and countless doctor appointments.

If all that doesn't seem challenging enough, Deb also lost her job as a Certified Medical Assistant after her FMLA ran out, and has not been able to return to work either. That's why there's Deb's Fight to Conquer Colon Cancer, a benefit looking to raise funds to help Deb in a way that's fun, engaging, and reflective of Deb's tenacious personality!

On July 15th, 2023, friends and family of Deb will be holding this benefit ride. They will depart from Fuse in Dyersville, IA to help raise money to offset her expenses. Below is the route the eventgoers will take:

The benefit ride route will start at Fuse in Dyersville and head to New Vienna on Hwy 136, Petersburg, Greeley on Hwy 38, Hwy 3, Hwy 13, and stop at Rod & Cal’s in Strawberry Point. The second stop is to Hwy 3 to Hwy 187 to Barney’s in Wadena before heading down Hwy 56 to Fennelly’s Irish Pub in Elkader.

All types of bikes, vehicles, and UTVs are welcome on this ride.

There will also be an auction and raffle taking place for Deb's Fight to Conquer Colon Cancer. Currently, Bev Clapham, one of the organizers, is working to collect donation items, such as raffle baskets, basket items, gift certificates, food, and monetary donations. Anything helps and everything is deeply appreciated.

If you're interested or able to make a donation, you can contact Bev Clapham via phone (563-542-1738) or email (bclap@mchsi.com). The family greatly appreciates all the generosity and support.

Now, let's go on a virtual tour of this excellent example of picturesque small-town Iowa.
