Lynn Anderson Exhibit Opening at Country Music Hall of Fame
The Country Music Hall of Fame is adding another accomplished artist to its roster of 2017 exhibits. A new exhibit titled Lynn Anderson: Keep Me in Mind dedicated to the life and career of the country star will open this year.
Anderson is most popularly known for her career-defining hit song, "Rose Garden," which topped the Billboard pop and country charts after its 1970 release, along with several international charts. As the daughter of Casey and Liz Anderson — who co-wrote Merle Haggard's "The Fugitive" — her own career in country music includes nearly 20 Top 10 singles, five of which reached the No. 1 spot on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart throughout '60s and '70s, including "Keep Me in Mind," "How Can I Unlove You" and "You're My Man." In addition to her numerous CMA, ACM and Grammy wins, she was also the first female country artist to win an American Music Award.
“Anderson’s television background and her ability to bring show-business dynamism to recordings and concert performances helped her achieve crossover success. With talent and tenacity, the country music star brought increased visibility to the genre in the 1960s and ’70s, and we are privileged to share her story with our guests," CMHOF CEO Kyle Young says in a press release.
Anderson died in 2015, the result of a heart attack. She was 67. Her exhibit joins a host of other superstar features in the acclaimed Nashville museum, including Loretta Lynn, Shania Twain, Jason Aldean and Tim McGraw and Faith Hill. Kelsea Ballerini, Miranda Lambert, Chris Stapleton and more of today's biggest acts have tokens from their careers on display in The American Currents (The Music of 2016). Anderson's Keep Me in Mind opens Sept. 15 and closes on June 24, 2018.
