Clarke University to Add Football in 2018

Clarke University is poised to field its first-ever varsity football team beginning in the fall of 2018.

The Clarke Board of Trustees voted Friday January 29th to add football to its intercollegiate lineup. The addition of football will bring to 19 the number of intercollegiate sports sponsored by Clarke. The team will compete in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) in a conference to be determined.

Board of Trustees Chair Margaret Mary Cosgrove, BVM, said the decision marks a new era for Clarke. Clarke will begin recruiting in the summer of 2017.
