During Chris Young's Saturday night (Nov. 23) show at the college basketball mecca Rupp Arena in Lexington, Ky., the singer hit the crowd while performing his hit “Who I Am With You” to share a moment with a special fan. The woman is, according to her sign, undergoing cancer treatment -- but she wouldn't let that stop her from enjoying the night.

While onstage, Young spotting the woman in the crowd thanks to her sign, which read “Chemo Yesterday … Chris Young Today.” He had her finish the song with him while she was driven to tears by the country star’s act of kindness, and the two shared a hug before Young ran back onstage.

Young's clip of himself in the thick of the crowd, singing along with a true survivor, topped 50,000 views in a couple of hours, an email to the media reports. The video has also gained nearly 1,000 comments from well-wishers, including the unidentified woman’s daughter, Mandi Hoffmann.

“Sending a huge thank you to Chris Young for pulling my mom out of the crowd to sing her favorite song with her in celebration of her last chemo treatment,” Hoffmann writes on Facebook. “It was definitely a night we will never forget.”

Young's Rupp Arena show wrapped up a year of arena and amphitheater dates, covering 35 states and featuring Chris Janson, Eli Young Band, Dylan Scott, LoCash, Jimmie Allen and Matt Stell as opening acts. That’s not to say that Young’s already wrapped up his 2019 live music itinerary, though: He’ll appear alongside Janson and Tenille Townes as part of Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade on Thursday (Nov. 28) on NBC.
