Congratulations to Cascade, Iowa native Colin Rea on making it to the big leagues.

Colin made his major league baseball debut tonight for the San Diego Padres.  Not only did Colin pitch 5 strong innings, he even got a base hit in his first major league at bat and eventually scored.  See highlights HERE. That's something only 3 other Padres pitchers have ever done..  According to Fox sports some 70 family members and friends made the trip to San Diego to see Colin pitch.  Almost as many were gathered at Courtside in Dubuque (as was I) to see his debut.  If Colin was nervous he didn't show it.  And even though he gave up 3 earned runs, as a native of Cascade I felt very proud.  He had four strikeouts and scored a run, and picked up his first major league win.  So all in all it was a good night for Colin. He showed the nation what a great kid he is.  Best of luck to Colin in his major league career.  Who  knows maybe he can join another Cascade native Red Faber in the baseball Hall of Fame.  Nice job Colin
