Brett Eldredge and his dog Edgar got to meet a very famous pup, and they liked him so much they invited him to join their squad!

Eldredge turned to Instagram to share that he and Edgar met the much-photographed Doug the Pug, and based on the photo, it was a pretty successful introduction. The country star is flashing his trademark smile at the camera, almost glowing as he cradles Doug the Pug, who's rocking a gray sweater, in his arms while Edgar looks on.

Another photo shows the two pups sitting side by side, looking as handsome as any pair of canines could. "When @itsdougthepug joins the dog dude squad...," the "Don't Ya" singer writes in one caption.

Edgar is building up quite the pupper reputation himself — he's got his own (very popular) Instagram page and his own sense of humor, channeled through his owner. "My wingman @itsdougthepug and I are going cruisin for the ladies," Edgar 'says' with an Instagram photo of him and his new friend.

Eldredge's love for his dog is just one of the many facets fans love about him. He even threw his buddy a birthday party complete with balloons, custom-made dog treats and a "Happy Birthday" singalong with some of his closest friends.

The country star is set to join Blake Shelton's Country Music Freaks Tour in 2018 as an opening act along with Carly Pearce. The 14-date tour runs from February through March. Eldredge recently released the music video for his current single, "The Long Way," starring Sadie Robertson of Duck Dynasty fame. The song is featured on his 2017 self-titled album.
